Steve Harvey to sit down with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez on Telemundo show

Miss Universe -Well, this should be interesting…

Just about a month after one of the most infamous incidents that we’ve seen in the history of the Miss Universe Pageant, we’re now hearing that the show’s host Steve Harvey is going to sit down with the woman who he accidentally handed the crown and sash to at the end of the telecast. This moment will happen on the upcoming January 19 episode of Telemundo’s “Al Rojo Vivo,” which is going to be airing at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. Ariadna Guttierez of Colombia will be able to offer up her side of the story, something that she did not get a chance to do during the program. Harvey, meanwhile, will have a chance to respond.

Is there any need at all for this to happen? Absolutely not at this point. The best thing Harvey could probably do is move on, since he’s already got a ton of publicity out of this and it feels to us like the only reason to do this is to give Gutierrez a chance to explain how she feels … even though she has already done this on other shows. We do feel for her; what happened was terrible, but at the same exact time, sooner or later she does have to move on. She has also received probably more publicity for the pageant this way than she would have if she had actually been crowned in the first place.

Harvey has been invited to return to the pageant later this year, but there’s no official confirmation that it will happen.
