‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 spoilers: More news on shocking Meredith attack

When “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 resumes with new episodes on ABC come February 11, it is going to be doing so with an episode that starts off in a pretty dramatic fashion. You may have seen the promos already featuring Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) badly injured, almost as if she was shot, stabbed, or attacked in some manner. As a result of this, every character is going to be reeling … but perhaps none more so than Amelia. She already lost her sobriety following a heated argument with Meredith, which led to her getting effectively kicked out.

Speaking about where we find this character in particular in the aftermath of the big attack, Caterina Scorsone had the following to say to Entertainment Weekly:

“Amelia takes that really hard … Amelia always holds herself extremely responsible for the misfortunate of others. In this case especially, she feels somehow responsible, even though she’s really not. She often takes it all very personally when someone she’s close to is hurt. When we come back, Amelia is at a very, very low point.”

The good news for Amelia is that there is always a chance for someone to bounce back and earn a little bit of redemption, even though from time to time it does prove itself to be rather difficult. It will require a great deal of effort, and also a genuine want to get better. For Amelia, part of her problem may just be learning to let the pain go after so much tragedy in her life as of late. She hasn’t been altogether on stable footing since the death of Derek.
