Jimmy Kimmel to “The Grinder” – According to Entertainment Weekly, the late-night host is going to be appearing as himself in Tuesday night’s upcoming episode, as Rob Lowe’s character of Dean turns to him for help. We don’t get many cameos from Kimmel on scripted primetime shows, so this should be rather interesting to see.
Yahoo Screen is over – According to Variety, the recent home of “Community” and some other originals has closed up shop, with a rep saying that they are making the move so that they can consolidate content for users to discover:
“At Yahoo, we’re constantly reviewing and iterating on our products as we strive to create the best user experience … With that in mind, video content from Yahoo as well as our partners has been transitioned from Yahoo Screen to our Digital Magazine properties so users can discover complementary content in one place.”
The reality here to us is simply that Yahoo Screen didn’t work. The original programming reportedly cost the company money, and there was no reason to continue doing it. This doesn’t mean that “Community” is gone forever, but we’re not too optimistic about the movie for now.
