‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: Liam Cunningham teases ‘bigger’ story
The sixth season of “Game of Thrones” is premiering on HBO at some point in the spring, and we already had to assume that there are going to be high expectations. There always is, but with a clean slate ahead thanks to there not being any more George R.R. Martin books out there, that certainly does make things all the more interesting.
We’ve heard a few very good teases about the episodes ahead so far, but you can go ahead and add the one below from Liam Cunningham (via Paddock) to the mix:
“It is bigger, brasher, bolder and weirder. It’s written by the two biggest fans of the books, so they treat the story with great delicacy, grace and with tremendous amount of love. So we’re in safe hands. Kind of.”
We feel like the “kind of” is mostly a reference to the fact that no actor on this show should feel all that secure about their job status at this point. It’s rather hard to, given everything that you have seen happen on the show before. Heck, Cunningham’s character of Davos will certainly be hardened by everything that happened in season 5, including the death of both Stannis Baratheon and his daughter Shireen. We do root for the character, and hope that he does stay around for a while. There aren’t many characters left who we feel are inherently good, and as a result of that fairly easy to root for.
As soon as we have more news on the return of “Game of Thrones,” we’ll have it for you here.
