‘Suits’ season 5 spoilers: More news on Mike’s dilemma
The fifth season of “Suits” will be returning come Wednesday, January 27, and based on the new details we’re seeing about the winter premiere, you’re going to be seeing Mike Ross in a completely different position than he’s been in before. He’s been found out.
If this was a situation where Mike had been arrested for the sake of doing something he was innocent of, that’d be one thing. However, the truth is that he’s been committing fraud for years. He’s 100% guilty of what he’s being charged with, and there is no real way for him to run away from that.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, star Patrick J. Adams (who will also be directing one of the final episodes this season) makes it clear that while his character will be the focus for much of the story ahead, the other characters are going to have opportunities to rally around him:
“These back six are definitely Mike-focused, but it’s also the thing that everybody’s having to rally behind … It’s not just Mike who is under threat but the entire firm. All these characters have to completely rally together against the sort of mountain of evidence that is going to present itself at trial.”
One person to look out for in the upcoming episodes is Leslie Hope’s character of Anita Gibbs, a woman who makes it her mission to take Mike down for his crimes. As Adams notes to the publication, it’s easy to dislike her because of what she’s doing to a beloved person on the show; however, at the same time she is rather justified in that this is someone who has done great wrong.
