‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will Becca Tilley have a different ending with Ben Higgins?

Becca -If you think back to last season on “The Bachelor,” Becca Tilley was a pretty easy person to like. However, she was also someone with key problems that kept her from getting the final rose from Chris Soules in the end. Her appearance this season comes as a second chance, and she will see if there is something between her and Ben Higgins.

While we like Becca, the question that you should wonder going into this edition of our daily spotlight series is rather simple: Is the history of other repeat contestants like Nick Viall going to make her into a target from the other women? Will she have an actual chance to find love, or will she be spending most of her time fending off drama?

Age – 26

Occupation – Chiropractic assistant.

Hometown – San Diego, California.

Things to know – She came in second on Chris’ season, and her story mostly focused on her struggles to open up to Chris, her even-handed way of handling some conflict in the house, and her being a virgin. There were rumors about her participation months before ABC made it official.

Strengths – She’s not always the best TV, but she is one of the more normal people we’ve seen on the franchise. She seems to genuinely want love, she’s friendly, and was well-liked by just about everyone in her first season. She also never comes across as desperate, which is good from the standpoint of it making people want to pursue her.

Problem areas – Putting herself in a vulnerable place is a big one for her, and we’re not sure if a year is enough time for her outlook to change all that much. This is especially true when you think that for much of that time she was in the spotlight, which makes it a little harder to self-analyze. She’s also going to have to contend with inevitable questions about (prepare to groan) if she’s there for the “right reasons,” given that there are so many venues to finding love and this is her second straight “Bachelor” appearance. We don’t think she’s there for fame, but the questions will still be asked.

Prediction – It wouldn’t shock us at all if Becca ends up making it to the finale and is not chosen again, mostly because we think she’s likable, but still hasn’t had the time to work on things she struggled with her in her first season. If she was returning a year or two down the road, maybe things would be a little different.
