2016 Golden Globes: ‘Outlander,’ ‘Mr. Robot,’ ‘Fargo,’ ‘Transparent’ among nominees
For all fans of the Golden Globes, the wait is finally over! We’ve discussed our own dream nominees, debated whether or not the Hollywood Foreign Press would get it right, and there is now nothing more to talk about than the nominations being announced for the 2016 ceremony. This happened at the Beverly Hilton early Thursday morning, and we’ve got at least the TV ones for you below. (We’re not a movie site, so we’re not going to bother there.)
Before we begin, a quick boo to the HFPA for how they by and large bungled the live stream for this in the morning. We’re a few minutes later than usual getting this out because of frequent lag, downtime, and also sound quality that was at times incomprehensible.

What?!?!?! Outlander?!?!? Nominated for an award?!?! An award that is not entitled ‘Biggest Crock of S**t Made This Decade’ or ‘Worst Hack Job on Scottish History & Culture Since A Tiny Aussie in Built Up Shoes Bellowed Slurred Declarations Of Yuh Cohnnaeee Taakkhrrkkk Ehr Fruuerdumm Like A Foaming At The Mouth Drunk That Has Finally Worked Out How To Unlock The Toilet Door On The Last Train Home’?!?!?!
This is my country, my heritage and my history and this is the period I have studied most closely. The books were the error strewn smutty fantasies of a middle-aged woman with an unhealthy interest in the sexual abuse of a young man. The TV show made the book look high quality in comparison and were an absolute insult to Scotland. Even the physical portrayal of Scotland was drab and less compelling that half the phone cam shots you see on YT.

As much as I love Idris Elba in “Luther” I really hope Patrick Wilson wins for “Fargo.”
