‘The Blacklist’ renewed for season 4, creator Jon Bokenkamp says

The Blacklist logo any seasonGreat news for all of those who love “The Blacklist” and want to see it stick around for some time on NBC: It’s officially coming back for a fourth season.

In a new interview with The Blacklist: Exposed Podcast, show creator Jon Bokenkamp made it clear that the show is coming back for a fourth season. Not only that, but he first found out about it a little while back:

“We knew about that a while ago, it’s one of those things that’s hard to keep quiet. But yes, we’re renewed through the fourth season … Hopefully we don’t tank that out, we got a lot of story to tell.

We really cannot sit here and proclaim with any sort of shock that we didn’t see this early renewal coming, mostly because this has been the M.O. more or less from NBC as of late. They have brought back many shows in a rather hasty fashion this year, whether it be “Chicago Fire” / “Chicago PD” or a new show like “Blindspot.” Their thinking here seems to be mostly that they know the properties that are doing well for them, and it makes sense for them to allow their creators to have flexibility to tell some of the stories that they want to tell.

For “The Blacklist,” this renewal was even more obvious thanks to timing. If the show makes it to the end of season 4, then it has all the episodes necessary to enter syndication. This is of course something that NBC is very happy to make happen.
