‘Doctor Who’ season 10: Peter Jackson (strongly) hints at directing episode

Doctor Who -The story about Peter Jackson supposedly directing an episode of “Doctor Who” feels in some ways as old as a Time Lord. It’s something that we tend to hear about time and time again, and yet at the same exact time it is something that feels as though it is never going to happen … or at least it did.

In a new video on his Facebook, Jackson has seemingly responded finally to the rumors, claiming hilariously that if showrunner Steven Moffat agrees to polish his Oscars, he’ll flay to the United Kingdom to do a shot for “four to six months.” We don’t think he is being serious with that final claim; it’s more of a reference to some recent comments by Moffat claiming that the “Lord of the Rings” director may not be that interested in having to change his style to direct an episode of this show in just a couple of weeks versus the time it takes to make a full film.

In giving further evidence to the fact that this gig is happening, you’ve got Peter Capaldi and a Dalek making a cameo appearance in here! In other words, this gig is more or less a sure thing, and this is a nice bit of theater to get people excited about. The question now is just whether or not this is something that is going to happen during season 10, or if we’re going to have to wait until even further down the line. Given Capaldi’s future beyond next season is unclear, it would feel weird for him to show up in this video only for Jackson to later not direct him.

Of course, we will have even more news on this as we start to hear more about it.
