‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: Could Severide’s father lend a helping hand?

Through the fourth season of “Chicago Fire,” matters have not gone that easily for Kelly Severide. He has been forced to deal with a new demotion, dealt with some very difficult people, and he really has not been able to get ahead very much.

Is that going to change in the near future? At the moments, signs seem to be pointing towards yes, and one of the reasons why could be the return of Treat Williams as Severide’s father. Speaking to TVLine, Taylor Kinney previews that he could play a role in a story that ends up being useful to many of the characters in Firehouse 51:

“He helps out with a problematic issue that could be really detrimental to Boden, the house and everybody involved.”

Of course, there’s no way Kelly’s dad is going to cure him of all that ails him, but this is a little bit of positivity that could go a long ways to making everything better. For now, all we want is a little more peace coming before we get to the end of the fall portion or the season. So far, it’s been chaos in between Boden’s leadership struggles, Dawson and Casey losing their child, and then so many newcomers still trying to find their place within the Firehouse. It’s good to like a little bit of chaos in the house (otherwise, it’d be a boring show), but you also want to have some hopeful moments and reasons to smile here and there.
