‘Undateable Live’ will not air tonight following Paris attack
While for the most part networks have chosen to keep their primetime schedules largely intact tonight following the horrific attack in Paris, there is one notable change that we need to bring you (some of you on the East Coast have already figured this out): There is no new episode of “Undateable Live” tonight.
You can see a series of posts on Twitter below from writer Chris Luccy and also star Ron Funches confirming the news, saying that decision was made at the last minute to not go on out of respect for the events in France. As Funches noted, they have to be prepared and able to concentrate in order to perform. There are still many other episodes coming this season, so rest assured there will be plenty more opportunities to kick back and laugh on Friday nights. This is more of a time of reflection for them, and also for us as we continue to monitor much of the coverage that is coming through via social media and TV broadcasts.
The majority of the other networks are choosing to hold firm to their schedule, with CBS sticking with its lineup of “The Amazing Race,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “Blue Bloods.” ABC and NBC both have their own lineups airing as planned, but they will devote their news programming (“20/20” and “Dateline”) to events taking place in the country.
Fox, meanwhile, has given authorization to affiliates that they can opt to air Fox News coverage of the attack of they wish. We imagine many other affiliates also choosing to make this decision of they so choose. The CW will continue air its programming as planned, as they have no devoted news division outside of what the local markets decide.
Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone out there who is going through tough times as a result of the attack.
