‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 7 reaction: Kevin McKidd on Dr. Riggs’ arrival

We’re now two episodes into the era of Martin Henderson as Dr. Nathan Riggs on “Grey’s Anatomy,” but at the end of the day, we still do not know too much about the relationship that he had with Dr. Owen Hunt before coming to the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Yet, these two characters are going to be at the foundation for much of the story coming up, so you have to think that sooner or later, you are going to see the history that the two of them share explode in a pretty dramatic fashion.

So when is something more about this going to be revealed? You’re not going to have to wait too long, at least based on what series star Kevin McKidd said to Entertainment Weekly in a postmortem article:

“The audience will definitely get more information next week. We’re going to get more, but not all of it, and not the key elements to it. We’re going to get very enticing hints next week, and hints that people will be able to draw their own conclusions. The actual spelling out of what happens is going to be saved until we come back.”

McKidd later claimed that the issue between these two men is in some ways a matter of “life and death,” which means that they could in many ways have a situation that may not be all that different than what Meredith and Penny are going through … though it is pretty hard to say right now that it is going to be anywhere near that severe. Then again, this is “Grey’s Anatomy” and anything can happen.
