‘The X Factor’ UK: Little Mix performs ‘Love Me Like You,’ ‘Black Magic’ on first live show
Let’s start to Little Mix, who Olly Murs and Caroline Flack specifically introduced as the only group to ever win the show. They performed their new single “Love Me Like You,” which had a very distinct doo-wop sound to it especially in the chorus. From here, they then transitioned into a brief performance of their recent hit “Black Magic,” which has played leading into some adverts on the show this season.
It’s nice to see that the show still is fully invested in promoting them, given that they are probably in a handful of acts from the show who have major appeal both in Britain and other parts of the world.
For those wondering, One Direction was also represented; the group’s “Perfect” was sang by the top 13 at the start of the show.
As for the second performer of the night (one not tied to the franchise), we had Ellie Goulding hit the stage with a performance of “On My Mind.” She of course remains hugely popular in Britain and around the world, and she’s not a newcomer to the “X Factor” stage, either. She brought a pretty impressive technology package with her, as well, with her singing this song with the support of several virtual Ellies who took on little snippets of the song to go along with what she was doing.
