ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: First look at Nathan Fillion – Adam Baldwin story in ‘Cool Boys’
“Castle” season 8 is not going to be airing a new episode on ABC Monday night, and the same goes for the week after! Unfortunately, you’re going to be waiting until November 9 to see “Cool Boys,” but we’re going to try to make that waiting a little easier now courtesy of the official synopsis. Take a look at it below via SpoilerTV:
“Detective Slaughter (guest star Adam Baldwin) returns to enlist Castle’s help in solving a high-stakes robbery case. But when a body is found linked to the crime, Slaughter becomes the number one suspect in the heist turned murder, while Castle has to determine whether he’s guilty or help to prove he’s innocent.”
The obvious appeal right away with this episode is the “Firefly” reunion between Baldwin and Nathan Fillion, who have previously done one episode of this show together. What we find particularly interesting about this synopsis is that there is not really any mention at all of Beckett, Ryan, or Esposito. These three are integral parts of the series, but it remains to be seen just whether or not they will have big roles in this story. Let’s hope that they do.
While we’re not sure “Cool Boys” is going to do a whole lot to propel the primary story of “Castle” forward, it’s certainly going to be a fun diversion and a chance to see if Ethan Slaughter has changed his ways at all. The last time Rick spent some time around him, what he was was that morality was not exactly high on his priority list.

the ratings have dropped the dumb idea to split the couple is disastrous. i enjoyed this uniquely corny show for 7 yrs and havent missed it during reruns for cma. If this is what you are doing to this show cancel it and put it and loyal fans out of their misery

Stana Katic was out of the country when the episode was filmed, so she wasn’t available for filming. I believe she was in Milan for fashion week.

When are you people going to realize that I am not interested in fluff like this when there are much more important things that need to be done. As far as Firefly is concerned I have never seen it to my recollection or if I did I must have changed channels after the first few minutes. I do not care who acted in Firefly nor anything else about it. With regard to the Slaughter character played by Adam Baldwin I did not like him at all. I felt that it was a stupid episode to burn up air time instead of accomplishing anything of importance. It certainly was not fun watching someone doing stupid things. I expect that the upcoming episode will just be more of the same. You have your 8 episodes you need to make better use of them or I will not watch 8×09 or any subsequent episode.

Buddy, You have got that right, they really are taking what once was a fun/ good show and making it a mockery and piece of S@#$%T. That is why I only comment and read these forums. This must be the episode where Stana went to Milan Italy for a well deserved break. Too bad both she and Nathan don’t have an out in their contracts, I kno0w I would be rung fast. I also believe that they will lose more and more fans if they don’t get Caskett back together and get some good writing on track before Episode 8 or which ever one it is before the long hiatus.

Charles, “The Nose” was episode 5. On Nov 9 will be “Cool Boys” which is episode 6. Episode 7 is “The Last Seduction” on Nov 16 and episode 8 is ” Mr. And Mrs. Castle on Nov 23 to take us to the fall hiatus. Episode 8 is supposed to contain another “twist” or as I would phrase it “another major screw up”. You know from the above that Cool Boys will be a mainly male show and is probably the one where Stana will go to the Milan fashion week. The Last Seduction could be Castle’s last try to win Beckett back. Mr. And Mrs. Castle could represent getting Caskett back together. The above is what I’m hoping for but we cannot forget that there will be another twist in 8×08. I read somewhere that someone was guessing that the new twist will be that Caskett are not legally married. This would make a divorce of Caskett unnecessary and we will have them single again but still in love and we would have to “Root” for them to get together again and married again which I will not do. I did it once and will not do it again. It is, of course, a totally inane ( no sense, no substance and no idea) situation where, if it were me as Castle, I would merely take Beckett in hand and get married again. However the show runners will probably take the position that they should not remarry because they want to make Bracken’s partner think that he cannot use Castle as bait to get Beckett because it would not work with them splitting up because Beckett allegedly does not love Castle. A lot of conjecture that is no better than anyone else’s. We will have to wait and see but the odds are for another screw up twist.

Charles, what gets me on this is how we could have an interesting, intense, dangerous, exciting story line that would advance the story line, strengthen the Casket marriage, regain the friendly banter between Casket, get some really hot conversation and contact between Beckett and Castle, involve almost the entire cast and have some instances of genuine fun. How to do this you might ask? Simple have Kate move back in with Castle, involve the entire 12th in solving the crime of who killed Beckett’s mother and was Bracken’s partner. In other words form a team of talented detectives and put them to work. You do not need to be stealthy just keep your eyes open and your guard up. Now how does it look for the show runners to do this? They will try to find Bracken’s partner using stealth measures – involve the fewest number of people, limit contact with people, keep Castle away from the 12th and its cases, no intimacy between Caskett and walk into the 12th one day with a handcuffed suspect that is unknown to everyone, people do not know what he did to warrant arrest and could care less and while all of the detailed case work is going on have some inane episodes that do not do anything including bringing a smile to anyone’s face.

Buddy ,well written couldn’t have said it any better .But as you indicate the writers don’t know how to write that.I agree will be more inane stories.

Interesting thought. Beckett has much more information now then she did with her mother’s case. Airplane tail number to trace owners. Knowledge that drugs are involved and each drug has a unique signature. Vulcan Simmons organization was involved. Vikr should be able to get more info on Allison Hyde (AG patsy) and the other mercenaries from the hit team.
She can use Castle’s mob connections as they have a drug trade and would welcome getting rid of competition. Beckett could contact Danberg (CIA operative from season 4) . Even though he is still CIA, is trustworthy. Beckett could contact Jordan Shaw FBI (I’m sure no love loss between agencies.) Even contact old squeeze Sorenson. Even though he’s married, could create friction with Castle without them breaking up. (Makeup scene could be hot) Beckett will not have to worry about those people, they can take care of themselves.

I know ,still I would be looking to even get out of that ,the way the writers are going. I also believe neither of them are happy with story. Why sign all the cast back when you are barely using them at the 12 and when you do it is frat boy humor and no Caskett or Beckett trying to solve issue.Writers just want you to hang on till after hiatus what a joke.
