‘Elementary’ season 4 spoilers: How will Sherlock get his job back?

ElementaryThere is not a new episode of “Elementary” on CBS either next week or the week after, but come November 5, the fifth season is going to premiere! There’s a lot to look forward to in the early episodes of this season, but obviously one of the clear mysteries is not one assigned by the NYPD. Instead, it is all about Morland Holmes, what he wants with Sherlock, and how he is going to enrich his son’s life (or damage it; it’s really hard to tell here most of the time).

It looks like it may take an episode or two after the arrival of John Noble as Morland before the show starts to reset, and focus more on Sherlock and Joan solving cases once again. You’re going to see some of this on the upcoming November 12 episode entitled “Evidence of Things Not Seen,” which you can read more about right now courtesy of the synopsis below:

“When Morland offers to use his influence to have Sherlock and Joan reinstated as consultants to the NYPD, Sherlock’s mistrust of his father makes him question his motivation to help. Also, with no work offers coming in, Watson wrangles a gig with the FBI investigating a triple homicide in a top-secret research lab.”

The important for the show is that regardless of what Morland’s motives may be, this brings Sherlock back to do what he does best, and it allows the show to continue its familiar format. We presume that the series will start to find some ways to balance out the personal with the professional for its leading man.
