Ratings: ‘NCIS,’ ‘The Flash’ season 2 improve; ‘Limitless’ down, ‘Scream Queens’ steady
The ratings on Tuesday night are in, and they are not exactly too different from the week before. Why is that a bad thing? It’s because the ratings were gut-punched last week for the Democratic debate, and the hope would be that there would be some sort of improvement.
Still, let’s do our best to try to break things down into specific winners and losers.
Winners – “The Flash” (1.4), “NCIS” (2.1), and “Agents of SHIELD” (1.5). All three shows posted at least decent improvement on the preliminary numbers from last week, and it’s possible that we could see any of them rise in the finals given that they have previously. There are no huge gains here, but “SHIELD” is a show that needs every little bit of support in the ratings that it can if it wants to continue surviving.
Losers – “Chicago Fire” (1.7) and “Limitless” (1.3) are a good place to start, since they suffered some of the biggest declines from last week. “Scream Queens” (1.0) and “iZombie” (0.5) kept roughly the same ratings as they had last time, but neither inspires great confidence. The latter show in particular is great fun and has a loyal following, but it is only getting just over a third of what “The Flash” is as a lead-in. No matter the network, a show that struggles to capitalize is always a show in trouble.
“The Voice” of course won the night overall with a 2.6, but the “Great Pumpkin” Charlie Brown special continues to perform well after so many years. Thanks to a 2.0 rating, it was the #3 program of the night on network primetime.
