TV Quick Hits: More ‘Rosewood’ scripts; ‘Twin Peaks’ loses Michael Ontkean; ‘Bob’s Burgers’ renewed
It’s not often that we have multiple editions of TV Quick Hits in a day, but this is what happens when there are so many tiny stories that are worthy of recognition, but there is maybe not enough about them to justify a full argue.
Fox orders more “Rosewood” scripts – According to Deadline, the Morris Chestnut series now has three extra scripts that could eventually be turned into full episodes. If they are made, the order for season 1 would be 16 episodes. We do think that this show will get a full season (“Minority Report” is bombing and “Scream Queens” is a letdown in terms of its live ratings), but its future beyond that is still to be seen.
“Bob’s Burgers” renewed – Earlier this week, Fox confirmed that the hit animated comedy has been renewed for both a seventh and eighth season. This show is a great pitch-hitter for them on Sunday night, and that plus its frequent love in terms of Emmy nominations make it attractive.
In a statement, Fox Broadcasting Company Entertainment president David Madden said the following:
“Six seasons in, the Belchers have become one of America’s most beloved TV families, and we are so happy to keep them in the fold for another two seasons … Bob’s Burgers is hilarious, warm, smart, inventive — critics love it, and so do fans. Loren [Bouchard], [executive producer] Jim [Dauterive] and the brilliant voice cast continue to surprise us in the best ways, and we look forward to seeing what Bob and the family will cook up in seasons seven and eight.”
A “Twin Peaks” surprise – Sad news for longtime fans of “Twin Peaks.” Per TVLine, Michael Ontkean is not going to be taking part in the revival at the moment. One of the reasons for it seems to be that the actor is just not in show business anymore. Robert Forster is rumored to be playing a new Sheriff on the series.
