TV quick hits: ‘Blindspot’ lands ‘Longmire’ star; ‘Twin Peaks’ casting; ‘Jessica Jones’ trailer
“Blindspot” lands Lou Diamond Phillips – While we await the future of “Longmire” over on Netflix, Lou Diamond Phillips has landed himself another notable role!
Per Deadline, Phillips will recur in multiple episodes of NBC’s “Blindspot” (a rather cush gig) as Saúl Guerrero, a dangerous man who has ties to Bethany Mayfair’s past. While we have certainly seen some dark notes through the story of Henry Standing Bear, this seems on the surface to be a far more villainous role than anything Phillips has taken on with “Longmire” in recent years.
“Twin Peaks” casts Peter Sarsgaard – This is going to feel very familiar to anyone who has seen some of our recent casting stories about “Twin Peaks”: We’ve got a new name for you when it comes to a major casting, but no other details. This is a part of David Lynch’s desire to keep almost everything about the show a secret for as long as humanly possible.
The Sarsgaard news was first reported by TVLine, and he joins Robert Knepper and Amanda Seyfried as some of the most notable additions to the project so far. There is not even a timetable yet when it comes to when “Twin Peaks” will premiere. That’s how secretive they are keeping this.
New “Jessica Jones” preview – This time, Jones can fly! These teasers from Netflix for their Marvel adaptation (premiering November 20) have been incredibly coy, and this one is no exception. Krysten Ritter is playing the title character, who is a former superhero who is now thinking of new ways to battle crimes in Hell’s Kitchen.
We’ll be back with another edition of TV quick hits (small stories that you may have missed throughout the day) soon!
