‘The Bastard Executioner’ episode 5 preview: Milus sends Wilkin Brattle on a mission
Come the end of next week’s “The Bastard Executioner” episode, we are going to be at the halfway mark for season 1. That in itself is a fairly scary concept. It was mere weeks ago we were starting to see the series get off its feet, and now so much as happened! By this, we mostly mean that we’ve seen many people die, many tears fall, and Wilkin Brattle start to settle in to his new identity and his new charge.
Next week’s new episode will continue the story of this character, and it will also put Brattle in a precarious position as he continues to go toe-to-toe with Milus. He is a man who does bear leverage over him, and therefore he is stuck at times fulfilling duties he may not want.
Also, per the official synopsis below, there will also be a distinctly royal presence courtesy of the hand of the king:
“The King’s right hand visits on official business and Milus gets Wilkin to search for a valuable artifact.”
In true FX fashion, the synopsis is brief, and there is not an official promo available on YouTube yet to compliment what we are saying here. Let’s just say that in teasing this story for now, we are going to see more of a direction towards a unifying of some of the season’s storylines, and a better sense of what the endgame (at least for season 1) could be. This is meant to be a long story, and with that, we assume there will be no hurry to tie up all loose ends anytime soon.
