‘America’s Got Talent’ finale results preview: Will Paul Zerdin, the Professional Regurgitator, or Drew Lynch win?
While we have felt like the vast majority of this season of “America’s Got Talent” has been a tremendous amount of fun, we do still have to say that we feel a certain amount of disappointment over some of the performances in the first part of the finale.
Let’s start this preview for the big finale by talking first and foremost about a very simple subject: Who stands no chance at winning. At the moment, we feel like it is fair to rule out many of the acts who performed early, whether it be Oz Pearlman, Uzeyer Novruzov, Benton Blount, or Gary Vider (sadly). Derek Hughes had a disappointing final trick with the ropes, so he is more or less out, and this leaves you with this final five: Piff the Magic Dragon, Paul Zerdin, Drew Lynch, the CriagLewis Band, and the Professional Regurgitator.
We wanted to throw the CraigLewis Band into this upper echelon of talent mostly because we feel like they earned it with a tremendous final performance. However, at the same time we more than recognize the fact that they needed help to get here from the judges. That probably means they are not getting it. Meanwhile, Piff the Magic Dragon was not universally loved, and this was his second time in three live shows to get mixed reviews.
In the end, we are left with Paul Zerdin, Drew Lynch, and the Professional Regurgitator, and we are as stunned as anyone to say that it looks almost like a guy who throws stuff up for a living is about to win a million dollars. It could be really close and we could see Drew’s inspirational story kicking in, but what the Regurgitator has going for him mostly is that America is tired of the same-old thing. Nobody has ever seen anyone do what he can, and what really makes this work is just that he is so unique in what he does and how he does it.
