‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: The latest bit of casting news

LogoAfter keeping things under wraps a little bit earlier in their “Game of Thrones” production, it is starting to become a little bit more clear who the HBO show is getting aboard … though there are still some parts that seem to be a little more unusual than others. This one definitely has to be one of the stranger roles.

According to a new report coming in now via Entertainment Weekly, Australian actress Essie Davis (best known for “The Babadook”) has been booked to play a member of a theater troupe in Braavos who stages a production known as “The Bloody Hand,” one where a variety of different familiar faces are going to be included. She is specifically going to play the part of Cersei Lannister, which should be fun. Granted, we still have no real idea how this is going to be that relevant.

This casting does at least give you more insight that after really coming more into its own this past season with Arya Stark and the House of Black and White, Braavos is going to continue to play a key part in the sixth season, though what exactly happens there remains to be seen. Personally, we’re very interested in seeing whether or not Arya is going to be able to handle being blinded, or if there is any real way to reverse it. After all, this seems to be a direct consequence more or less of some of the revenge plots that she sought out.

The new season premieres on HBO in the spring, and we have a hard time thinking that this will be the end of the casting news! Stay tuned.
