‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 spoilers: More on a big Alex, Jo storyline
We know that there are many fans of Alex and Jo out there, and you can rejoice now a chance to see more of them in action on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 this fall! They are one of the most-stable relationships that the show has going now, and while there’s no guarantee that they are going to be making it to the end of the show together, we are at least feeling somewhat confident right now that they are making things work.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the plan was originally to get Justin Chambers and Camilla Luddington a much larger story throughout season 11 than they ended up receiving, but that had to be changed with the exit of Patrick Dempsey. Based on what show creator Shonda Rhimes ended up telling the publication, though, it definitely appears like there is still a heck of a lot to look forward to, and plenty of reasons for longtime fans of the two to smile:
“They’re really cute … I’m enjoying them. We’re watching Alex be more of a man. I also think we’ve been talking about this idea of him being more of a man in everybody’s life in a weird way. He feels a responsibility for Meredith in a brotherly way, and he’s got Jo. There’s a lot of romance going on there. They’re going to be struggling through the problems of any relationship.”
With the way Rhimes talks about Alex and Jo, we actually have some hope that they’ll make it! Maybe we’re just setting ourselves up for a fall here, but we do think that the time is right for the character to truly find love after all he’s been through with Izzie and everyone else. Jo is supportive, but at the same time she also challenges and pushes him to be better. In many ways, she is the perfect compliment to him and his personality.
