TNT places all of ‘Public Morals’ season 1 online for Labor Day Weekend

We all know that Labor Day Weekend is not exactly the most active weekend in the world for TV viewing. There are a flurry of marathons that populate networks, but for the most part what we see are people content to try to soak up some of the last bit of the summer sun before getting into the grind of fall (which does vary for different people depending on school, work, or something else).

For TNT, they have decided apparently that it is a good time to try a binge-watching experiment for their Edward Burns series “Public Morals.” The entire ten-episode first season has been made available through Monday on TNT On Demand, TNTDrama.com and the Watch TNT mobile app. It’s a sign that the network is really proud of the show, and it definitely gives TV fans something to do over the next few days.

For those who do not know too much about the series (which Burns also executive-produced, wrote, and directed), it is a story of the 1960s in New York City, where Burns’ character finds himself front and center for a gang war in his own Hell’s Kitchen neighborhoods. He works for the Public Morals division of the NYPD, and finding the right way to handle this case will be difficult.

Will there be a ton of people who opt to watch this show? Right now, we’re voting unlikely not so much as a slam to this, but instead more of a realization that most people do not binge-watch things outside of Netflix or Amazon. While “Aquarius” was available for weeks to watch on NBC platforms, only a tiny percentage of the audience actually did.
