‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: How some ghosts from the past could return
When you’ve been on the air for ten years, one of the benefits is that you’ve got a lengthy Rolodex of people you can invite back at almost any moment. This is probably even more true for “Supernatural,” since a character being dead ultimately means nothing. We’ve seen Bobby multiple times since his demise, we thought Castiel was gone for a while, and there are some characters who are almost impossible to kill.
While the show is being hush-hush on who from the past could return (we’re still hoping for Chuck), the presence of The Darkness is going to put Sam and Dean in particular in a position where they need some assistance. In commenting on this further to TVLine, executive producer Jeremy Carver had the following to pass along:
“As responsible as the boys feel for having released The Darkness and how much they personally want to defeat it, they’re not going to be able to do it alone … They’re going to have to confront some figures from their past. They’re going to have to make some unexpected and unholy alliances involving folks from their past, which will have personal ramifications, as well. Because these are some pretty significant figures from their past.”
What we know about The Darkness is that it could be manifested within a single character, and its history dates back even before The Bible. Therefore, there are not going to be too many historians out there who can help the Winchesters with this. They are going to need to work together to figure this out, and suffice it to say, it is not going to be easy.
