‘Supernatural’ season 11 star Jensen Ackles rocks out with ‘Simple Man’ cover (video)
Do we have a winner for one of the most awesome “Supernatural“-related videos of the summer? It’s at least one of our favorites since the awesome “Shake It Off” parody that really covered the majority of season 11.
While at VanCon this weekend, we had a chance to see none other than Jensen Ackles perform a cover of the Lynyrd Syknyrd classic “Simple Man” alongside some band members, including fellow cast members Richard Speight Jr. on bass and Mark Sheppard on the drums. You can see some of Jensen’s love of classic rock on the CW show as it is, but this was just a further example of it. There aren’t too many opportunities that Dean Winchester gets to sing (beyond karaoke as Demon Dean a.k.a. Deanmon) so we’ll take almost every other chance that we can get.
This convention was not far from where the cast film the majority of the scenes for their show, but they have spent a good part of the summer traveling all over America and taking part in conventions in one form or another. It’s really just part of the “Supernatural” experience; getting to perform a great song for many of the fans is ultimately just the icing on the cake.
The premiere of “Supernatural” season 11 will air on The CW come Wednesday, October 7, and unfortunately for all of you musical fans, we imagine that Dean is probably going to have his hands full dealing with the looming Darkness and what it means for him and his brother.
