‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: What Dawson’s pregnancy means for her, Casey
The third season of “Chicago Fire” ended with a pair of different cliffhangers. First, we had the news that Dawson was pregnant, presumably with Casey’s child. Then, we learned that he had been captured in the wake of his investigations and dealings near the end of the third season.
At this particular moment, it only makes sense that one of the prevailing questions out there would be how the two move forward following these events. For Casey, it is easy to assume that one way or another, he is going to find his way out of this situation. If he was not able to, this show would not be nearly as interesting. Clearly, nobody wants to get rid of Jesse Spencer! There will be consequences of the capture that will continue to haunt him, but the story will still find a way to move forward.
As for the relationship that these two characters used to share, the romance appears to be back on following the pregnancy news, but is Casey there because he wants to be with Dawson, or because he wants to ensure his child is cared for? This is an issue that executive producer Matt Olmstead claims will be a part of his story. Just take a look at his comments, via TVLine:
“There’s definite ramifications in terms of her wanting to know, ‘You’re doing it for the right reasons, wanting to be back with me? Because we weren’t even a couple when this happened … It just becomes like, ‘OK, you got what you wanted. Now what?’ Reality sets in. So it gives them some nice twists and turns as a couple. But they’re galvanized as a couple, certainly, in the first part of the season.”
There is still a little bit of a wait for the new season to start, but we will be here to help you get your “Chicago Fire” fix until the premiere.
