‘After Paradise’ spoilers: JJ Lane, Juelia Kinney, and James Gunn to appear

On Monday night’s “After Paradise,” ABC is going to prove yet again that have a very weird tendency to clump as many random people together as humanly possible.

Let’s play a quick game of “one of these things is not like the others”: Jenny Mollen, Jason Biggs, Chris Harrison, Juelia Kinney, JJ Lane, and James Gunn. Pretty easy to guess, right? Sure, Biggs may not have any connection to the “Bachelor” franchise directly, but he is married to Mollen. Gunn here is the outlier. We did not even know that the “Guardians of the Galaxy” director was an avid viewer of the show, but we guess he is in order to appear here. Obviously, it is more cross-promotion given that ABC and Marvel are both owned by Disney.

As for Juelia and JJ, you do have appearing here a pair of people who have been a big part of the narrative so far this season. With JJ, you’ve got a particularly cocky guy who has shown a softer side this season, and has therefore become much more likable as a result. Meanwhile, Juelia has always been someone viewers have wanted to see fall in love, but she has unfortunately been forced to deal with throughout much of the past week or so Joe Bailey, who clearly is there for one simple reason … and that has very little to do, unfortunately, with romancing her.

Hopefully, this edition of the show is as strong as the second week’s. We feel like in terms of tone and structure, it was put together so much better than the premiere.
