‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6 spoilers: Jane and Maura head to California!

Just in case you didn’t know, the vast majority of the scenes that you see on “Rizzoli & Isles” are not filmed anywhere near the Boston area. Instead, they are done in Los Angeles, with some location shots added in. Many of you who read this are probably not too shocked, given that many other crime procedurals set elsewhere, including “Castle,” “Criminal Minds,” and “NCIS,” also use Los Angeles and the sets available here.

However, one of the good things about being in California is that in the event you want to actually set an episode in the area, you can do so without too much trouble. That is precisely what the TNT series is going to be doing on its upcoming August 25 episode entitled “Fake It ‘Til You Make It,” which is a motto that many in California do tend to have. For some details all about what to expect, check out the synopsis below:

“After a body turns up in Boston with links to another murder in Los Angeles, Jane and Maura pack up their sunscreen and hop on a plane. With the girls out of town, Angela and Korsak plan a double date with Kiki and Ron.”

What sort of surprise are going to await in the City of Angels? It should be fun to find out; in general, though, it’s always fun to have these fish-out-of-water episodes since it introduces so many new dynamics; take, for example, the “Castle” episode that brought out Gene Simmons as a guest star.
