‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 summer finale spoilers: Is Charles ending it all?
There’s something very strange about the sneak peek below from next week’s “Pretty Little Liars” summer finale, and it may just by the sole fact that while the Liars seem to know in it for the first time just who Charles really is, we don’t. This is an interesting change from what we’ve become accustomed to with this show, which is us having roughly the same amount of knowledge as Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna.
For the sake of this preview, though, the whole point here is not so much about who Charles is at what he is doing. Namely, he seems to be intent on trying to take his own life. We do not entirely understand what he is up to here. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for him to have made such an attempt for him to destroy the lives of the women he considers tormentors, only for him to suddenly want to die the moment that they know who he is. If he wanted to remain incognito, why try to destroy them in the first place and set up this whole game?
ABC Family is promising many answers beyond just who Charles really is in this episode, and we should get a proper timeline to a variety of the different things that have transpired over the past several years and why. In some ways, this could be thought off as an end of a huge chunk of the story. Maybe there will be a few dangling threads since you do have the second half of this season plus season 7 (set more than five years in the future), but there will be a lot of closure in “Game Over, Charles.”
