‘American Crime’ season 2 spoilers: Connor Jessup comes over from ‘Falling Skies’
It really did not take Connor Jessup too long at all to move forward after his time on “Falling Skies,” and lucky for him he also has a role that is particularly meaty to go along with it. “American Crime” is a very different sort of show, and it should be nice for him to have such a dramatic change of pace where he can start to try out something that exercises a separate set of emotions.
Per what show creator John Ridley tells TVLine, Jessup is going to play “a young man at the center of accusations that roil two high schools along socio-economic lines.” The story for season 2 in general is going to revolve around some issues around a high-school community that tackle everything from gender roles to sexuality to diversity and identity.
“American Crime” may especially be a hot commodity for many actors right now given its recent run of Emmy nominations in the Limited Series category. It is a dark, gritty show, and while it may not be one that delivers enormous ratings, the awards-show prestige is probably going to keep it in the conversation.
With all of this being said, we do wish that the upcoming “American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson” would change its name, given that we imagine people confusing the two projects and they both could be up for similar awards when we get around to Emmy season in 2016. There is no premiere date for “American Crime” season 2 just yet, but you should find out more early next year.
