‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12: Shonda Rhimes, Camilla Luddington, and the beginning
While the writers for “Grey’s Anatomy” have been at work now for a decent stretch of time, the fun of this past week was for the most part getting to see some of the cast return to work! The first table read took place for season 12 earlier this week, and there is some more proof of this very thing in the tweets below from creator Shonda Rhimes and star Camilla Luddington.
Now, of course one of the questions that comes with this is what sort of script that the cast will be working with. There is so much more mystery now behind the show than in the past; thanks to that long time jump after the death of Derek, there are so many different untapped stories that the show could dip into from the past. Also, there is also the future and the ambiguity there with questions about whether or not Meredith will find love again, if April and Jackson can ever get on the same page, and if Luddington’s Jo can continue to have largely-happy times with Alex.
This season will premiere later this fall, and so far Martin Henderson has been announced as one of the new characters. We imagine that some more casting news will be announced over time.
One more thing we’ll say now is don’t view this necessarily as the last season of the show just because Ellen Pompeo’s contract is up at the end of the year; we haven’t heard anything just yet suggesting that the end is near.
