‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Is Merida already filming?

“Once Upon a Time” has wasted almost no time at all making sure that Merida is a part of the show experience for the upcoming fifth season. We already know that actress Amy Manson is already in the process of filming her part!

Production is underway on the series in Vancouver, and while we’re not going to share any photos (we have a policy against non-sanctioned set images on this site), we know that she is one of the characters already working on scenes. This more than likely means that she will be someone who plays an important role in the story right away. Maybe she is connected somehow to one of the characters we’ve already met, such as Robin Hood given that he has to have some old friends from Sherwood Forest. Given that they both possess archery skills, it seems like a good possibility. Then again, the series could surprise us!

We wish we could say that Merida opens the door for other Pixar characters to come over, but when you think about it it’s not like there is really another natural character who would work. Buzz Lightyear is not going to suddenly fly in, and most of the bugs from “A Bug’s Life” would just get crushed. The other new characters we’ll have to be pleased with right now are the Camelot crew.
