‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’ lands October 31 premiere on Starz
Given what we are talking about here with “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” as a series, isn’t it only appropriate that it finds its way to Starz on October 31? The ten-episode series will premiere on Halloween night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, as per the big reveal at San Diego Comic-Con today.
In some ways, we’re a little shocked with this premiere date just because of the timing of it all. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so you are competing both against a holiday and the worst night of TV for the week. Granted, this is a night that Starz has popularized for much of their original programming. This series, which comes from the brilliant mind of Sam Raimi and stars Bruce Campbell, at least does have a devoted following. We feel like these people would follow this show to the ends of the earth and back.
When it comes to the content itself of the show, rest assured that it will be as gory, shocking, and scary as ever. Campbell offered up plenty of assurances in the form of the following message:
“We have unrestricted content, that’s why Starz makes sense for this show … They don’t have a problem with anything.”
Hopefully, this show will be a big success, and this is something that we see more of in other years coming up. For now, let’s just end this by saying that Campbell wore probably our favorite outfit of the day, a bright red suit that at times made him look demonic in his own right. Cheers to bold choices!
We’ll have more news related to this show as it gets a little bit closer to the premiere.
