Donald Trump now claims he’s suing NBC, throws Brian Williams into battle
Take a look at part of his statement below:
“If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court. Furthermore, they will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.”
The fundamental difference between Trump and Williams, at least to us, is that Williams apologized for what he said and is trying to take some steps to move forward in a different way. Trump has been distinctly unapologetic, and his comments have targeted a specific group whereas Williams was just reporting wrong an anecdote for the purposes of perpetuating his own image. Very different things.
Will Trump actually sue over NBC dumping Miss USA? It’s possible. To us, the real question is whether or not they will hire someone else to host “The Celerity Apprentice.” There have to be other billionaires out there with a flair for the ridiculous, right? We can only hope.
