‘Teen Wolf’ season 5 spoilers: See Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien cast in new opening!

There are many reasons why “Teen Wolf” is a particularly beloved series by its fans, but to us one of the most notable reasons why is a particular matter of this: They have to be frank one of the coolest opening title sequences of any show out there. It’s intense, fast-paced, and it actually changes every season depending on the cast and the substance of the season.

For the most part, many of the sequences in this season’s opening (see below via MTV) are the same as season 4, which to us is okay. We really dig the presentation of Dylan O’Brien for one, and Arden Cho rocks the sword. Still, can’t Lydia have something new given that it has virtually been the same thing for her for three seasons now? You gotta shake things up occasionally, and she is a very different character than she used to me.

The downside of this opening is mostly that it does in some ways serve as a reminder to everything that has changed over the past several years, and one of the biggest things that goes along with that is simply the reminder of who is no longer around. This season, Tyler Hoechlin a.k.a. Derek is no longer a series regular, and over the years we’ve lost such people as Crystal Reed (whose character was killed off) and Colton Haynes.

The new season of “Teen Wolf” premieres on Monday night, and hopefully the nature of the story itself is cool enough to make you forget, at least temporarily, about some of the departures.
