‘Suits’ season 5 spoilers: First look at Robert Zane’s return

Just when you think that things are starting to become a little easier for Mike and Rachel’s personal life on “Suits,” Robert Zane may be reentering the picture and proving once again his knack for making things super-complicated. On the surface, you would think that his presence would be a good thing. After all, he’s Rachel’s father, and a very successful man at what he does.

Unfortunately, Robert also has a knack for being incredibly intimidating, and for pulling almost every trick that you would categorize as something a lawyer would do. While Wendell Pierce has his hands full these days given that he’s also a part of “The Odd Couple,” we have a sense that his daughter’s engagement could lead to us seeing much more of him. The attached photo here is from the upcoming second episode of season 5 (airing July 1) entitled “Compensation,” and while it is unclear who he is talking with in this image, it is easy to guess either Mike or Harvey.

We know from this already-released synopsis that Robert is going to offer up some “unsolicited advice” when it comes to his daughter, and for the time being we are able to label that easily as not-so-great news for Mike. We’re not sure that he will want Robert getting involved with anything in this relationship.

Who knows? Maybe the story is far more complicated than we know right now, but we are excited to see what Robert does bring to the proceedings when “Compensation” airs.
