‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: Official details, title for premiere episode

HBO logoWith the premiere of “True Detective” coming up on HBO Sunday, June 21, the network is starting to become a little more free with some of the details about what lies ahead. Specifically, what that means for us today is being able to present some of the first official scoop in regards to “The Western Book of the Dead,” the season premiere that will set up the arcs for Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and the rest of the cast.

While the synopsis below via the network may not be long, it does at least help signify further how all of our main characters (played by Farrell, Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch, and Rachel McAdams) all end up getting involved with one another:

“The disappearance of a city manager disrupts a lucrative land scheme and ignites an investigation involving three police officers and a career criminal who is moving into legitimate business.”

The second episode of the season is entitled “Night Finds You,” but in a curious move on the show’s part, they have not unveiled anything when it comes to details on that story. Typically, HBO’s manner of promoting a show means that they send you a month’s worth of titles and synopses; here, they are not even willing to give you that completely just yet. Obviously creator Nic Pizzolatto wants to keep everything as secret as humanly possible for the time being; also, he is the architect responsible for the entire season yet again. There are not many writers on TV these days who continue to exercise as much sole control over a project as he does.
