‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Why is Nick Viall appearing on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season?
As a source tells E! News, this was hardly a move by him where he came on with no knowledge of who she was. The two exchanged messages frequently on social media, and at least had some sort of preexisting connection, even if it was a friendly one more so than a romantic one. Is it really fair? That’s a reasonable question to wonder, but we would say that given she has had three episodes now to get to know the other guys, it’s a little more fair for him to come on now than it would be had he turned up the first night.
Here is what one source had to say on the subject as to why Nick would even want to do this in the first place:
“He decided he wanted to do the show and pursue her. His attitude was, you only have one life. But he weighed the decision seriously … There was a lot of deliberating. If she had started to develop feelings for someone else, he didn’t want to ruin it for her. He genuinely cares for her and wants her to be happy.”
It’s easy to have polarizing opinions of Nick, for the most part because of what he said to Andi Dorfman during the “After the Final Rose” special that season. Some feel like he was intentionally trying to shame her by getting her to admit to sleeping with him on live TV; however, others feel like he was asking a legitimate question as to why she would sleep with him, knowing full well that she was choosing to be with someone else in the end.
We imagine that we’ll have much more to say about this episode soon, but for now head over here to get more of the latest on Monday’s episode. Also, you can sign up here to get some further TV scoop on everything we cover, sent right over to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
