‘Masters of Sex’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Resurrection,’ ‘Homeland’ alum to play Virginia’s parents
Just in case you’ve wanted to see more of the world Virginia Johnson came from on Showtime’s “Masters of Sex,” you are going to get a chance to do that on the upcoming third season. Not only that, but we know the actors playing them!
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, we are going to see Frances Fisher (most recently of “Resurrection”) and Michael O’Keefe (recently of “Homeland”) each guest-star in two episodes of the upcoming third season as mom and dad to Lizzy Caplan’s character. Since some tend to say that your upbringing influences part of your personality, it will be interesting to see if that is true here. Virginia has long been an extremely determined woman, and turned a job working for Dr. William Masters into one of the most powerful partnerships of her time.
When the new season picks up this July, many years will have past, and Masters will have gone from being somewhat of a laughingstock in the scientific community to someone whose thoughts and opinions are held in much higher esteem and regard. This success will mean that a flurry of other opportunities come come in the direction of these two characters, though it is not entirely clear just yet whether or not they will help their reputation or hurt them further.
All we can say with some confidence for the time being is that you have even more of a reason than ever before to enjoy this new season, and we’ll have some further information as it comes out.
