‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 23 (finale) video: Ra’s al Ghul and subjective futures

Arrow -Tonight’s “Arrow” finale is just about upon us, and the question you really should be wondering for the time being is clear: How is the series going to end? The answer probably involves Oliver Queen not becoming the new Ra’s al Ghul, but for at least the immediate future he is keeping up that facade.

As the sneak-peek video below reveals, he is at least preparing still with Ra’s in order to destroy his Starling City home, and also is able to persuade him that he has dreams already of becoming the new Ra’s himself. Why would anyone dream about that? If we were Ra’s, we would find this to be a little bit suspicious given that this is hardly the sort of job that everyone in the known world would want. It is a lonely, cold affair, one where you send people out to kill while having no real life of your own. All you know is death, watching people close to you dying time and time again.

For Oliver, the question here will be figuring out when is the right time to make it clear that he is not envisioning himself as Heir to the Demon, after all. He will need to strike when Ra’s is vulnerable, and create a big move unlike any that we have seen so far. In the end, let’s just hope for some sort of thrilling conclusion to a story arc that has been uneven at best.

One other thing to remember about tonight’s episode is that it will most likely feel like a definitive end to the story for the time being. Season 4 will be a fresh start, and may even at times feel like a very different sort of show.
