‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 finale spoilers: Michael Trevino sets up Tyler’s exit

The latest -Since we’ve already spent a whole lot of time discussing the departure of Nina Dobrev and her character of Elena from “The Vampire Diaries” Thursday night, why not give Tyler Lockwood a little bit of time in the spotlight now? The timing’s right here, since there is no confirmation that he going to surface beyond the finale, either.

Unfortunately, the bad news here really for both Elena and Tyler is that it already does feel like there is no guarantee that either one of them is going to be getting a happy ending. Speaking to TVLine in an interview reflecting on some of his time on the show, Michael Trevino described some of his time as a part of the show with the following message:

“The season finale provides a nice little ending for Tyler … Well, it’s not nice, but it is emotional. I can’t say too much, but we’ll see what happens when Kai tries to take out his evil plans on everyone. He doesn’t seek revenge on one person; he attacks everybody. He’s got some tricks up his sleeve that shatter everyone’s worlds. It may be a bit of a tearjerker.”

Hopefully, the end of this episode will at least provide us some closure one way or another when it comes to how Tyler’s story ends. We don’t want any cliffhangers, though we do want to see him move on and have some sort of life now that he is a human again. Also, it would be nice to see if the show finds a way to bring him back for a potential series finale or some other big episode down the line.
