‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 finale spoilers: Can Boden save the day?

At this particular point in time, we feel like the format for a season finale of “Chicago Fire” is at least fairly easy to figure out. There is some sort of devastating event, and the team is called in to try and save lives to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, in the process lives are put at risk, and Boden is always one of the characters you worry about the most.

In the sneak peek video below, you get a little bit of a sense as to why on this particular occasion. Boden seems to be leading the way into a devastating blaze, given instructions to Severide and the other firefighters present. It appears that there is at least one more person in need of saving, but this is a pretty enormous fire that we are dealing with here.

One of the challenges with “Chicago Fire” is simply being able to continue to create drama against an opponent without a face or a personality. It’s a little harder than with a crime drama, where you can have a serial killer or someone else coming in to stir up trouble.

We suppose that there is definitely a possibility that a beloved character will die in the finale … though we of course don’t want to see that happen! We’ve already lost Shay from the premiere, and while Mills is not dead, he did exit recently in favor of going back home. That is a lot of cast turnover for a season, even if we understand that these sort of things do happen in the real world for firefighters.
