‘The Amazing Race 26’ episode 9 preview: Hayley vs. Blair; Matt vs. shoes

While “The Amazing Race 26” already had legs in both Germany and Monaco, they apparently have decided that they are not done with Europe just yet. Therefore, they have opted for the next leg to go all the way back up to the Netherlands. Wouldn’t it have saved so much money to do this leg first? It certainly seems that way.

Anyhow, we now only have five teams left, and each one of them does bring something to the table. Laura & Tyler bring consistency, Jelani & Jenny intensity, Matt & Ashley entertainment, Mike & Rochelle relatability, and then Hayley & Blair insanity. You most-likely saw plenty of that in the promo for this upcoming episode, given that one highlight was these two going back and forth at each other while riding bicycles. Maybe in the real world they could get along okay; on the race, they are more oil and water than anything else.

This team is not the only one that is going to have a little bit of trouble in the country. For example, Matt somehow is going to become completely perplexed trying to find a pair of wooden shoes that fit him during one of the tasks; meanwhile, Laura & Tyler are riding around in some sort of floating hot tub. Matt’s task feels like a Roadblock, and it is possible that the other tasks we are seeing here are Detours. We haven’t seen a Fast Forward yet, but we’re not sure we will at this point in the season.

Given that this promo made no mention of either Mike & Rochelle and Jelani & Jenny, we are probably the most worried for them. Note that there is either one more non-elimination leg ahead, or we are going to be doing a “to be continued” thing once.
