‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20 review: Noah Galloway, Suzanne Somers, Rumer Willis take us back in time.

Dancing with the Stars -Dancing with the Stars” is going into the history books tonight … or at least the history books of some of its contestants as it presents songs from the most memorable year in the contestants’ lives. Most of these choices are probably going to be rather predictable, but could

Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough, argentine tango – It was of course themed around the Olympics, and also of course, it was fantastic. Why would you think anything else at the moment? Nastia has the talent to win the entire competition, even without the same sort of time to rehearse as some other people. Score: 36.

Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd, rumba – It wasn’t the best dance, but this story that Michael shared was one of the most emotionally raw ones that we’ve heard leading up to a routine. It is his best performance to date, so maybe this can be seen as a stepping stone for him? Score: 30.

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker, tango – Yes, both he and Michael have the same memorable year in 2014, but let’s face it: They are both young, and neither has been famous for a particularly long time. This is when R5 started to make a name for themselves! This was a solid tango, though hardly a tremendous step up from the past week or two. Score: 34.

Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson, waltz – This was the dance where Robert finally emerged from the middle of the pack into a serious contender. The waltz was a touching tribute to his late mother, and it was emotional to hear him talk about how even with his fortune and success, he still could not do anything to help his mom. Score: 34.

Chris Soules and Witney Carson, rumba – Another person talking about last year … but it made sense, given that he went from a first engagement to Andi Dorfman’s season to another engagement. A nice rumba. Nothing too special, but we’ve seen worse from him. Score: 27.

Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev, jazz – The difference between Patti and Chris is not dance ability, as Chris is actually just as good of a dancer as she is. However, the reason that there is a difference between the two is because Patti has shown herself to be much better at actually performing to the crowd. Score: 30.

Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy, waltz – ANOTHER story when it comes to last year. Rumer has come to accept herself more from this past year with family drama and other events happening in her life. This was both lyrical and powerful, her best dance to date. Score: 35.

Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani, foxtrot – A simple but fun routine that captured the spirit of “Three’s Company.” If Patti got a 30, why couldn’t Suzanne get an eight from any of the judges? Score: 28.

Willow Shields and Mark Ballas, contemporary – Once again, Willow proves that she has the best choreographer this season. There was a ton going on and maybe Willow was a little overrated here, but it was still a fantastic routine. Score: 39.

Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess, contemporary – We feel like we’ve said this before about Noah, but he is a strong, emotional dancer! His problem lies mainly in the technical skills, but with this routine, he made up for them. Score: 32.
