Is ‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 17 new tonight! New character scoop!
Yet again, we have another case of good news and bad news when it comes to “Law & Order: SVU,” but we will start things off here with the news worth smiling about: We know when the show is going to return to NBC! It just won’t be tonight.
While we were in the dark for a while, we have confirmed that the show will come on the network again with a new episode in two weeks on Wednesday, March 25. This will allow “Empire” to come and go, and give the show a better shot at good ratings against easier competition. This first episode back is also going to be one themed in part around Carisi, which leads us to the question we have for you now: What is going on with this guy and law school? It was mentioned earlier in the season, and not really referenced since.
Based on what actor Peter Scanavino tells E! News, this is something that is still under consideration for the show. We just have to see still what happens with it:
“I was thinking about [this same subject recently], ‘cause it’s like, ‘Huh, how long does it take to finish law school? I think he will, but I hope he’s like, ‘I really love being a detective now.'”
One of the nice things about this show is that even if the writers ever decide to move in more to the other side of the show, he would still have a part to play! This is not a series where leaving the police force automatically means that you are out of a job.

As far as I’m concerned as an avid fan of the show this last episode jumped the shark. A fairly decent looking parole officer is so hard up she at gunpoint has sex with this fat ugly loser and drug addict. Come on now, the guy should be so lucky. She had a good reputation and every thing to lose and she would risk it on this freak?

I love Carisi, but I also want him to finish law school. He seems like a natural; he’s already able to apply his legal knowledge to the intricacies of cases and enthused about doing it. Would love to see him in the DA’s office, though usually those people are Harvard grads (Claire Kincaid & Alexandra Cabot, don’t know about Barber), not Fordham grads. Aw … Carisi for over-the-top public defender, at least!

On what show would you like to see him? He won’t be on this one if he becomes a lawyer. They won’t be getting rid of Raul Esparza anytime soon. They’re not paying him much. NBC and SVU aren’t adding another lawyer to this show. I would expect him to be on this show until it ends or he gets an offer to be on another show. If they bring back Law & Order, he could be the opposing attorney 4-5 times a year. I think he’d rather be on SVU 20-24 episodes and collect a paycheck.

Blame it on the genius of NBC and EMPIRE blowing everything away. Will FOX bring EMPIRE back in the 9pm Wednesday slot next season? It did very well against Criminal Minds and SVU this year. if they do(and SVU doesn’t move) expect NBC to give SVU more breaks so it goes head to head with EMPIRE as little as possible.
