‘Madam Secretary’ episode 15 preview: Elizabeth versus multiple dilemmas

“Madam Secretary” has another major episode coming Sunday night in “The Ninth Circle,” and let’s just say as a teaser that it is a good thing Elizabeth McCord has had a great deal of time to train herself on the ins and outs of this job. Being Secretary of State, after all, is no easy mission. There are millions of expectations put upon you, from your friends to your colleagues to of course your family. You have to find a way to please everyone, and then live with yourself when things fall apart. This will be what our series lead has some trouble with. The new sneak peeks below are evidence of that.

1. The Turkey mystery – What happened in the video, and what do you tell the press all about it? This is the key takeaway from this sneak peek. It is clear that Secretary McCord is not being completely forthcoming when it comes to what she knows about Turkey, and this puts things in terms of media relations in a bind. The press may at times be overzealous and a little bit crazy, but they are not stupid. You have to eventually give them something, and right now, what we have is a whole lot of zilch.

2. Elizabeth’s trouble at home – Chronologically, this “second” sneak peek may actually take place before the first on the show, given that Tea Leoni’s character has yet to take off for Turkey. This is proof that she has a lot of her plate. For one, she is struggling in order to ensure that Jason is not bullied at school to the point of misery; then, she has to handle the guilt of trusting someone, and a life being lost as a result of it. Within a span of a few short sentences, you get a sense of what her life is like.
