‘American Idol XIV’ results: Were Riley Bria, Michael Simeon, Trevor Douglas, Mark Andrew eliminated?

American Idol -Tonight, the top eight on “American Idol” got a chance to perform … and with the new structure of the show, this means that there are four contestants who are eliminated immediately.

So who are the contestants who were sent home tonight. Let’s just say that there were some major surprises in the mix. First and foremost, Riley Bria! He was the only real country singer on the men’s side, and we thought he was a lock! As for Trevor Douglas, not so surprised. He struggled mightily in his performance last week.

Meanwhile, we also lost Savion Wright, and we are equally unsure just of how that happened. He had so much airtime over the course of the past few seasons, it felt almost like a sure thing that he was going to be through. Michael Simeon was the fourth contestant sent home, and that was falls more into the “not surprising” camp.

Ultimately, though, we did not have any of these four winning the entire season. Right now, we would say that Clark Beckham, Nick Fradiani, Rayvon Owen, and Quentin Alexander are the frontrunners. We hope that someone really starts to separate themselves even more as a favorite sooner rather than later, but the reality is that we’re still very much in the early stages of this competition. There is so much more time for some craziness to transpire, or for someone to deliver the sort of genuine moment that we love talking about on this show so much.
