‘Madam Secretary’ episode 14 spoilers: The conspiracy arc and more

The next three episodes of “Madam Secretary” are linked in a very particular way, and it revolves around seeing if Elizabeth can start to piece together what happened to both George and her predecessor in Secretary March. It should be an exciting trilogy that really combines a variety of different TV genres, from political drama to crime show. Approaching this investigation gives the series a chance to stand out a bit from many other similar Washington shows that are out there.

Are there going to be complete answers by the time we’re at the end of this season? Even though the show was given a second-season renewal early, it appears that the creative forces behind the show are not planning to stall and drag this on forever. Speaking to TV Guide, creator Barbara Hall explained that the plan for now is to give you at least a certain degree of closure into this primary plot by the end of the season:

“We’re going to try and resolve the biggest pieces of this conspiracy story, this mystery in this season. The fact is that everything that happens will definitely have tentacles that reach into second season, but we really want to get people to the end of this mystery by the season ender.”

One model to certainly consider as a good example here would be “Hot to Get Away with Murder,” at least in that we learned who killed Lila Stangard, but the characters have not entirely figured it out. This gives audiences something further to be hooked on. Maybe “Madam Secretary” will present more closure than that, but we wouldn’t mind a reasonably large cliffhanger.

The good news is that you will not be waiting for long now to have answers: The first of seven consecutive episodes air starting on Sunday night.
