NBC’s ‘The Voice’ premiere video: Sarah Potenza courted hard by Adam Levine
Monday night’s premiere of “The Voice” definitely looks like it’s going to be plenty of fun; after all, all of the coaches this season are veterans to the show, so there is no need to worry about chemistry or any of those sort of issues.
Instead, the focus can be almost entirely on the talent, and Sarah Potenza is to us one of the standouts that has been shown off by NBC to date. She brings quite a bit to the table, and it includes experience in how to work the stage, a voice with serious Janis Joplin vibes, and an extremely unique look. Do we know if she has a chance to actually win this show? Not really, but it almost doesn’t really matter, since winning doesn’t seem to have a bearing on your career. We just want to see her last for a while to see what other stuff her voice can do.
After the performance, the real drama begins in terms of who she will consider as her coach. Is there a real favorite of the group? We actually have a hard time picking one here, since so many people each bring something to the table that she could use. For example, Blake Shelton obviously has the big-time ties to Nashville, where she happens to live. However, Pharrell really wants to work with someone like her, and Adam Levine really goes so hard at this that he cradles her in his arms.
Sadly, you’ll have to wait until the premiere Monday to find out just who she chooses.
