Could a ‘Gotham,’ a ‘Teen Wolf,’ or an ‘Orange Is the New Black’ star be in ‘Deadpool’?
Here is further proof that more and more movie franchises now are looking to TV to figure out just what they want for themselves moving forward.
If you remember many years ago, Ryan Reynolds played the part of Deadpool during “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” and they have now decided that they want to make a movie about this character. Intriguing, no? Well, what we are most intrigued by are the roster of people that are apparently being considered at the moment for the female lead in the project.
According to a new report from Deadline, two prominent TV actresses and one recent TV actress are all among the top contenders: Morena Baccarin of “Homeland” and now “Gotham” (where she plays Leslie Thompkins), Taylor Schilling of “Orange is the New Black,” and former “Teen Wolf” star Crystal Reed. These parts, while not always the meatiest, are at least great when it comes to getting a little bit of attention drawn to you, and raising your odds for other roles.
If you were to ask us who we’d love to see in the part, it would be Morena without even a moment’s hesitation. She just has the greatest overall resume in this particular genre already, and she’s been great in almost everything. Schilling is a wonderful actress, as well, while Reed to us is more of a wild card since we’ve really only seen her on one show.
We’re not so much going to be giving updates on a film (we are, after all, a TV site), but we’ll be sure to let you know who ends up landing this part.
